The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Information Center has announced its 2026 community event schedule, featuring a full lineup of family-friendly events designed to bring residents and visitors together throughout the year.

The Chamber invites everyone to “Join the Fun in Birch Bay!” with events that celebrate the community’s scenic waterfront, local traditions, and welcoming small-town atmosphere. All Chamber events are free and open to the public.

The 2026 event schedule includes:

• Kid’s Kite Festival – June 20–21

• July 5th Shoreline Cleanup – July 5

• Sand Sculpture Competition – August 1

• Rollback Weekend Car Show – August 2

• National Night Out – August 4

• Derby Day – August 29

• Trick or Treat on the Berm – October 29

• Ring of Fire and Hope – December 31

• Polar Bear Plunge – January 1, 2027

These popular events attract thousands of visitors annually while supporting local businesses and strengthening community connections.

The Chamber was recently honored as the “2025 Whatcom County Tourism Business of the Year” by Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism, recognizing its leadership in promoting tourism and community engagement in Birch Bay. Funding for Birch Bay community events is made possible in part through a Tourism Promotion Grant from Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism and a Community Support Grant from Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District 2.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
