Chuckanut Brewery in Bellingham won six major medals at the 2017 North American Beer Awards. Three beers won Gold including their Kolsch German Style Ale, Pilsner Lager, and Dunkel Lager. The Vienna Lager and Helles Lager each won a Silver Medal and the new Doppelbock won a Bronze Medal.
The North American Beer Awards, held in conjunction with the 23rd Annual Mountain Brewers Beer Fest held in Idaho, celebrates craft beer and holds a beer competition with beers from all over the country at the same time. The judging included 96 different styles of beers with over 1,700 beverages entered. Chuckanut Brewery holds numerous medals from past NABA competitions and was thrilled to receive recognition again this year for its entries. Most of the beers that were awarded medals are on tap at both South (Skagit Valley) and North (Bellingham) Nuts as well as at selected accounts across Puget Sound.
Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen located at 601 West Holly St, Bellingham was awarded the National Small Brewpub/Brewer of the Year 2009 and National Small Brewery/Brewer of the Year 2011 at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). The full service “Kitchen” serves from 11:00 am to guests of all ages with an eclectic fresh local menu.
