Ciderfest Features Local Hard Cider, Live Music at Bellewood Farms & Distillery

Tastes of 10 different Pacific Northwest hard ciders and eight spirits from Bellewood Farms & Distillery, plus live bluegrass music, will be featured during the 12th-annual Ciderfest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.

The afternoon includes a hard cider homebrew competition ($20 entry fee and $200 cash prize for the winner) with critiques by judges provided to each participant. Music will be performed by Queen’s Bluegrass.

“We’re blessed to have some amazing nearby cideries and individuals who produce fine-crafted hard cider,” said Eric Abel, president of Bellewood Farms & Distillery. “Ciderfest is a great opportunity for hard cider fans and people who are curious to sample some of the best in our region.”

Ciderfest is presented at Bellewood Farms & Distillery, a 62-acre orchard with 22 apple varieties. It’s located at 6140 Guide Meridian, Lynden, only 7 miles away from Bellingham, Ferndale and Lynden.

Tickets for Ciderfest are available at Eventbrite.com for $35 per person and include a commemorative sipping glass. A direct link to the ticket site is at www.bellewoodfarms.com. With a 350-person capacity, Ciderfest typically sells out before the day of the event and tickets won’t likely be available then, Abel said.

Bellewood Farms & Distillery also includes a market and gift shop, café and bakery. For homebrew entries and more information, call (360) 318-7720 or visit www.bellewoodfarms.com.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
