Filmed in Bellingham, The Addiction of Hope Screens at Pickford Film Center with Director and Star in Attendance

Pickford Film Center is proud to host a screening of The Addiction of Hope, an emotionally gripping new drama filmed partially in Bellingham and Whatcom County, on Saturday, June 7 at 1:30 PM. The screening will be followed by an exclusive Q&A with director Martin Gottlieb and star Anne-Marie Johnson

The Addiction of Hope tells the story of an aging actress who—when her sister gets sick—is forced to examine her choices in life and the importance of family versus fame in a story about having the courage to change your life. Shot across several Bellingham landmarks and neighborhoods, the film highlights the talent and beauty of our region, both on and off the screen.

Tickets are available now at pickfordfilmcenter.org or at the Pickford Film Center box office.

Founded in 1998, the Pickford Film Center serves the Whatcom community by screening independent films 365 days a year, producing and presenting the annual Doctober film festival, the Bellingham Children’s Film Festival, numerous film series and special events.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
