Free Concerts Featuring Bluegrass, Folk Music Returning to Bellewood Farms

Free outdoor concerts featuring bluegrass, folk and country music will be presented during the eight-week Farmtunes series this summer at Whatcom County’s Bellewood Farms & Distillery.

The family friendly outdoor concerts from 6-9 p.m. Fridays feature artists from throughout the Pacific Northwest. Farm Tunes begins July 7 with Lynden-based Queen’s Bluegrass, which also will perform Aug. 18. The other acts are Prozac Mountain Boys, July 14; Handsome and Gretyl, July 21; Heron and Crow, July 28; Michael Dayvid, Aug. 4; Mark Wagner with John Brazell, Aug. 11; and Clanna Morna, Aug. 25.

“Adults will love relaxing on our back patio or grass with a beautiful view of Mt. Baker,” said Eric Abel, president of Bellewood Farms. “Children have plenty of room to roam and play with smores and apple-cider slushies waiting for anyone who’s hungry.”

Bellewood Farms is located at 6140 Guide Meridian, Lynden, about seven miles away from Bellingham, Ferndale and Lynden. Food and beverages are available from its Ten Mile Cafe. Free samples of farm-made spirits are served in the distillery’s tasting room.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
