Join Sustainable Connections at the opening day of the Bellingham Farmers Market for the release of the 2018- 19 Eat Local First Food & Farm Finder and the launch of the new Eat Local First Campaign with a celebration at the Bellingham Farmer's Market.
The Eat Local First Food and Farm Finder Release and Eat Local First Launch will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Bellingham Farmer's Market at the Depot Square. The well-known campaign that has been part of the NW Washington community for seven years, the Eat Local First Campaign helps people find, buy and prepare fresh, high-quality food grown, raised, harvested and made in Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan and Island Counties. It’s an initiative of Sustainable Connections’ Food & Farming Program, to support local farmers, fishermen, and restaurant owners and grocers who sell local products. Local design firm Ketchup + Mustard produced the new look.
“Eating local is one of the best ways to stay healthy, nourish the people you love, and support our community," said Sara Southerland, Sustainable Connections Food & Farming Program Manager. “As our farmers and local food businesses are working hard to constantly innovate and bring us the best quality food– we wanted to keep our look fresh, vibrant, and representative of the bounty of local food in our community.”
Sustainable Connections will be tossing the cabbage to open the 2018 Bellingham Farmers Market season and releasing the new 2018 Eat Local First Food & Farm Finder on April 7th.
