Lombardi's Opens New Restaurant in Bellingham

What began two years ago as the start of an exploratory expansion phase, has culminated in Lombardi’s opening a new location at Bellingham's Bellwether marina (in the former Giuseppe’s restaurant) at 21 Bellwether Way.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to be part of the group of destination restaurants in the Squalicum Harbor area” stated Diane Symms, Founder and CEO of Lombardi’s.

“When the Lombardi’s Executive Team started brainstorming locations for a future operation, we determined that a waterfront destination location was a priority.”

Andy Hilliard, Lombardi’s Executive Chef, suggested looking into Bellingham as he had friends in the industry who spoke highly of the area. Since selling Lombard’s original location in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard in 2010, and the closing of its Issaquah location in 2013, Lombardi’s has operated exclusively in Snohomish County. “We now have a core group of company leaders who are excited about growing the company, stated Kerri Lonergan-Dreke, Lombardi’s Vice President.

The Bellingham Lombardi’s menu features all the scrumptious signature items found at every Lombardi’s: Chicken Marsala, Tortellini Gorgonzola, Scampi Diavolo, Grilled Salmon Picatta, and Tiramisu, to name a few. Locally sourced ingredients are used as much as feasible. The wine list offers Italian and Washington selections, and the bar menu offers appetizers, classic and craft cocktails.

“We are really excited to use local breweries,” says Director of Operations, Kris Korshaven, a self-described beer lover.

Whatever the reason or the season, Lombardi’s makes every day special.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
