Northwest Washington Fair Thanks Community and Announces 2024 Dates

The 2023 Northwest Washington Fair brought people together over ten days in August to create lasting memories.

This year, we were reminded over and over of the generous community we live in; notably during Food Drive Friday and two pass the bucket collections during the Lynden PRCA Rodeo.

New in 2023 was our partnership with Brown & Brown Insurance and the Whatcom County Food Bank Network to provide free gate admission to those who donated food items, on Friday, August 11th. “This is a day we are proud to be a part of and look forward to continuing this partnership for many years”, said Selena Burgess, General Manager. The total collected was over 11,600 pounds, or 5.8 tons, of food.

The Lynden PRCA Rodeo fans on Monday night passed pink buckets and collected over $3,500 for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Program. All funds will stay local and be donated to the Peace Health Cancer Center in Bellingham to help support patient needs.

During the Tuesday night performance of the Lynden PRCA Rodeo an impromptu pass the bucket was started after pro cowboy, Cody Cabral, a native Hawaiian competed. Over $6,700 was raised and will go directly to the Maui Strong Organization to provide resources to those recovering from the devastating wildfires in Maui.

“On behalf of the Northwest Washington Fair Association, I would like to thank our community partners, over 300 seasonal employees, countless volunteers, vendors, exhibitors, and fairgoers for making the 2023 Northwest Washington Fair a success”, says Selena Burgess, Fair Manager. “A successful Fair allows us to continue to pursue our mission, which is to educate about agriculture, provide experiences with positive competition, provide diverse entertainment, social interactions and lasting memories.”

We look forward to celebrating with you next summer, August 8-17, 2024.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
