Port of Bellingham Marine Life Center Re-Opens to Walk-Ins

The Port of Bellingham is excited to fully re-open the Marine Life Center to walk-ins beginning Monday, March 14th! We ask for kindness and patience as we practice safely and successfully moving the community through this facility. We will continue to reserve one day a week for appointments for those visitors that prefer a more one-on-one experience.

The Marine Life Center will be free of charge and open to the public during the following hours beginning on, Monday, March 14th, 2022:

  • Monday thru Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunday by appointment

Masks will still be required when visiting the Center through March 20th. However, beginning March 21st , masks will be optional per the updated state-wide guidance. Visitors will also be asked to use the Marine Life Center’s handwashing station, especially before going in the touch tank.

Please visit Marine Life Center and Port of Bellingham social media pages for updates and information.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
