Registration Is Open for the Mt. Baker Hill Climb

Registration for the 2026 Mt Baker Hill Climb opened January 1. The race will take place on Sunday, September 13 and is capped at 450 riders. The event has sold out for the past 3 consecutive years. Riders who register by March 31 will save $10 on their entry.

Interest is already strong, with 73 riders registered to date.

We’re excited to share new national recognition for the event. In 2026, Gran Fondo Guide ranked the Mt Baker Hill Climb as the #6 Gran Fondo in the United States, placing it among the top cycling events in the country.

This recognition reflects the strength of the cycling community and the continued growth and reputation of the Mt Baker Hill Climb. We’re incredibly grateful to the riders, volunteers and partners who help make this event such a special experience year after year.

Additional details can be found in Gran Fondo Guide’s Top 10 USA Gran Fondos for 2026.

Early registration is recommended, as space is limited for this challenging and scenic ride up the Mt Baker Highway.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
