Shifting Gears Presents the 5th Annual ‘Sippin’ on Cider’ - Bellingham’s Original Cider Festival

Shifting Gears, the Bellingham non-profit dedicated to empowering all women through outdoor recreation and education, is proud to announce the 2025 ‘Sippin’ on Cider’ Festival. The fifth year of Bellingham’s largest celebration of autumn and cider will be held on Saturday, October 18th from 2-7pm at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal in Historic Fairhaven, a space graciously donated by the Port of Bellingham.

The lineup of diverse ciders from across the Pacific Northwest includes Lost Giants Cider Company (Bellingham, WA), Bellingham Cider Co. (Bellingham, WA), Garden Path Fermentation (Burlington, WA), Terramar Brewery (Cider - Edison, WA), Greenwood Cider Company (Seattle, WA), Schilling Cider House (Seattle, WA), Offset Cider Works (Seattle, WA), Yonder Cider Works (Wenatchee, WA) and hard seltzer from Stone’s Throw Brewery (Bellingham, WA). More cideries will be announced on the Shifting Gears website in the weeks leading up to the event. A selection of non-alcoholic beverages will also be available to purchase.

New this year, Moonshine Line Dancing will be hosting two line dancing sessions throughout the afternoon, from 3-4pm and 5-6pm. All tickets include entry into the dancing. Also new this year will be pumpkin painting. VIP ticket holders will receive a pumpkin to paint, and GA attendees will have the option of purchasing a pumpkin at the event. All paint and brushes will be supplied by Shifting Gears. In addition to tasting the selection of delicious cideries from around the Pacific Northwest, attendees can expect to enjoy local music throughout the event, as well as yard-style games and a photobooth. Food will be available on site from local food trucks. A raffle featuring donations from many of Shifting Gears’ local and national partners will also take place during the event. Raffle tickets are included with entry tickets, and additional tickets can be purchased at the event. Shifting Gears merchandise will be available to buy at the event as well.

Regular entry tickets are $40 and include a 4oz taster glass and eight drink tickets. VIP tickets are $60 and include a limited edition ‘Sippin’ on Cider’ 4oz taster glass, 12 drink tickets, a pumpkin to paint at the event and a Shifting Gears koozie. Ticket prices will increase by $10 starting October 14th. All proceeds from tickets, raffle and merch sales will support Shifting Gears programs focused on breaking down barriers that stand between all women and their outdoor aspirations.

Tickets are on sale now, and will be sold online through 10/17. Day-of tickets will be sold at the door. Last year nearly sold out, so Shifting Gears encourages purchasing tickets early to ensure admission. This event is 21+. Dogs are unfortunately not permitted.         We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
