Sirens Cove Social House Opens This August in Lynden, Bringing a Fresh Take on Community Gathering

This August, Lynden welcomes a new destination for gathering, conversation, and celebration as Sirens Cove Social House opens its doors. Owned by Marlea Pitman, Sirens Cove is more than a taproom—it's a place where neighbors, friends, and visitors can come together to enjoy quality drinks, meaningful connections, and the welcoming spirit that has long defined the Lynden community.

Inspired by the European tradition of neighborhood cafés and public houses, Sirens Cove Social House embraces Lynden's rich Dutch heritage by creating a space where people can slow down, share stories, and enjoy each other's company. The name "Social House" reflects a simple philosophy: life is better when it's shared.

Guests will find a thoughtfully curated selection of craft beer, cider, seltzer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in an inviting atmosphere designed to encourage conversation and connection. Whether stopping in after work, meeting friends for an evening out, or welcoming visitors to town, Sirens Cove offers a place where everyone feels at home.

"As someone with Dutch roots, opening a social house in Lynden feels especially meaningful," said owner Marlea Pitman. "Dutch culture places a high value on gathering around the table, sharing good conversation, and building community. I wanted to create a space that reflects those traditions while giving Lynden a comfortable place to connect over a great drink."

One of those traditions is the Dutch toast, "Proost!"—a heartfelt wish for good health that is shared while maintaining eye contact, a custom believed to bring good fortune. Visitors to Sirens Cove may find a few Dutch touches woven throughout the experience, celebrating the heritage that has helped shape Lynden's identity.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a true social house—an open, welcoming taproom that brings people together over great drinks and shared moments. We celebrate our community by creating space for connection and fostering a neighborhood hub where everyone belongs.

Sirens Cove Social House is built on the belief that great communities are strengthened by places where people can gather, unwind, and create lasting memories. From casual meetups to community events, the space is intended to become a welcoming fixture in Lynden for years to come.

A grand opening celebration will be announced soon. Follow Sirens Cove Social House on social media for opening details, events, and updates.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
