Ski to Sea Seeking Two Race Committee Members

Ski to Sea is asking for the community’s help in filling 2 key Race Committee roles for the 2026 race and beyond.

The Ski to Sea Race Committee is a passionate group of volunteers who return year after year to help bring this iconic community event to life. Serving on the committee is more than volunteering. It's a chance to give back to an event that defines our region and connects thousands of participants and spectators.

We are currently seeking 2 leaders for 2026:
• Cyclocross Co-Chair at Hovander Park in Ferndale
• Canoe Co-Chair at Riverside Park in Everson

As a Leg Chair, these leaders oversee one race leg from start to finish. Responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, managing equipment, and helping create an exceptional race day experience. While the role is unpaid, it offers meaningful impact, strong community connection, and an exciting behind the scenes role in race operations.

Strong organization, leadership, communication skills, and availability on race weekend are essential. These positions play a critical role in ensuring a smooth and successful event. Hands on training and a detailed operations manual are provided, and new committee members are supported every step of the way.

Interested individuals are encouraged to email or call the Ski to Sea office to learn more.

Let’s make Ski to Sea 2026 unforgettable together!

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
