Tennant Lake Boardwalk Trail is Open

The Tennant Lake Boardwalk trail is now open, with the exception of a small section at the farthest lookout that remains closed due to damage from the November 2021 flood event. If you plan to walk the trail, you will not be able to complete the loop due to the damaged section. Please do not attempt to pass trail blockades.

Repairing the Boardwalk Trail has been a coordinated effort between Whatcom County Parks and the Department of Fish and Wildlife and is ongoing.

For more information, please contact Whatcom County Parks & Recreation at 360-778-5850 or visit: https://wa-whatcomcounty.civicplus.com/3894/Hovander-Park-Flood-Restoration.

We acknowledge that Whatcom County is located on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples. They cared for the lands that included what we’d call the Puget Sound region, Vancouver Island and British Columbia since time immemorial. This gives us the great obligation and opportunity to learn how to care for our surrounding areas and all the natural and human resources we require to live. We express our deepest respect and gratitude for our indigenous neighbors, the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe, for their enduring care and protection of our shared lands and waterways.
