Ever wondered about the complex ins-and-outs of the craft beer industry? Lucky for you, Chuckanut Brewery is running a Lecture Series for Bellingham Beer Week. The series will be held at North Nut (601 W. Holly St, Bellingham) April 23rd-25, 2018. The Lecture Series will be held in the back covered patio starting at 7 pm each night.
- On Monday, April 23, national beer writer John Holl discusses the craft beer industry and its future.
- On Tuesday, April 24, Oregon beer writer Jeff Alworth talks “Secrets of Master Brewers.”
- To close the series, on Wednesday, April 25 Whatcom Symphony Orchestra members will present Classical on Tap where they discuss and perform classical music pieces.
Beer writer and senior editor for
Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine, John Holl, offers great insight and leads a discussion to inform beer lovers of the detailed elements of craft brews. He is also the author of
The American Craft Beer Cookbook, which will be for sale by
Village Books the night of his talk. John also produces a great podcast about craft beer for Craft Beer & Brewing.
Jeff Alworth will lead his discussion around his book, "Secrets of Master Brewers." He talks about the secrets of master brewers and how we can learn various techniques, traditions and even exclusive homebrew recipes. Jeff is also the author of
The Beer Bible,
Cider Made Simple, and
The Beer Tasting Toolkit, in addition to his popular blog site,
Beervana. He has a podcast also that has become very popular. Village Books will have all of Jeff’s books for sale at the talks for those that are interested.
For Classical on Tap, members of the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra will perform and discuss chosen classical music pieces. Executive Director, Gail Ridenour will talk about the pieces of music, its history and the musicians that are performing the pieces before each piece is played. Classical on Tap will continue the last Wednesday of the month throughout the summer and ends in September.
