Water – It’s Everybody’s Business. Join the Whatcom Watersheds Information Network and celebrate Whatcom Water Week 2018 through a series of free events held throughout Whatcom County from September 15 to 22. Businesses, non-profit organizations, agencies, and community groups are hosting
a variety of fun family-friendly events that celebrate the importance of water to our community, our environment, and our cultural well-being. Water Week offers something for everybody.
Your favorite Water Week events from last year are back, along with some fun new surprises. The Water Week photo contest is already up and running with photos showcasing the importance of water in our community. Enter your photos to win great prizes and the chance to be featured in the 2019 Water Week Calendar. The Streams of Thought Film Series will kick off the week of events with a showing of Anote’s Ark at the Pickford Film Center on Friday September 14. Other Water Week events include the Run with the Chums 5k, Bellingham SeaFeast, guided river and wetland walks, the International Beach Cleanup, storytime at the library, water and wastewater treatment plant tours, a BTC Fisheries and Aquaculture Tour, and much more.
