Blue T Lodge  ~30 minutes to Mt. Baker 

Located near Glacier, Washington the Blue T Lodge offers 6 comfortable rooms that are perfect for a good night's sleep before and after a day on the mountain! Amenities include free WiFi, in-room coffee and tea, and TVs with DVD players. One room is ADA accessible, and pets are welcome - just make sure to ask in advance. For dinner, stop by Chair 9 Woodstone Pizza and Bar, located right next door.

Hotels in Bellingham  ~1.5 hours to Mt. Baker 

Whether you prefer a luxurious waterfront resort, a mid-priced hotel, or economy lodging, our hotel partners can provide the perfect launchpad for your visit to Mount Baker. Many hotels also offer complimentary shuttles to and from Bellingham International Airport (BLI), along with special park and fly packages for travelers.  

Travel tip: If you're staying in Bellingham, choose a hotel on Bakerview Road. These hotels serve breakfast, are great for families, and you can drive east on Bakerview to meet up with the Mt Baker Highway - bypassing some in-town Bellingham traffic.

Douglas Fir Campground

Located in the forest along the North Fork Nooksack River, this campground has vault toilets, water, abundant shade, and a day use picnic shelter. Guided river rafting and white water kayaking opportunities are available on the river, and the Horseshoe Bend trail is accessible from the campground. There are 30 sites, 18 of which are reservable. 

Silver Fir Campground 

Situated in the forest along the North Fork Nooksack River, most of the sites are tucked back form the highway and located close to the Nooksack River. The campground is open seasonally from May through September and offers 21 sites, 15 of which are reservable. There are also toilets and water. 

Salmon Ridge Sno-Park 

This area is open during the winter, with Sno-Park permits required from November 1 to April 30.

Fly straight into Bellingham...and bring your skis! 

Southwest Airlines lets you check snow ski equipment as your free bag. This includes skis, snowboards, ski boots, and ski poles. When checking ski equipment as your free bag, they allow you to count up to two bags (containing one set of snow skis, poles, and ski boots, for instance) as one item, even if they're packaged and tagged separately. 

Plus, the airline won't charge an excess size fee for snow ski equipment. However, excess weight charges may apply.

Backcountry Essentials  - Rent skis, snowboards, camping, and climbing equipment overnight! There's also gear for kids. Book online, over the phone, or in-person at the shop.

REI - Rent winter gear including downhill and cross-country skis, snowshoes, snowboards, and backcountry snow equipment. Summer rentals include hiking, camping, paddling, and climbing equipment.
